PARIS, May 19 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell RDSa.L has submitted a proposal for developing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the northern Russian region of Yamal, a senior executive said on Wednesday.
Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom GAZP.MM has been talking to western energy companies and the world's biggest LNG exporter Qatar about jointly producing LNG on the Arctic peninsula. [ID:nL7572362] [ID:nCOM002256]
“We submitted a proposal at the start of the year,” Aidan Murphy, Shell Exploration and Production’s vice-president of new business development in Russia told journalists on the sidelines of a conference in Paris.
