Hungary's Egis says Oct-Dec profits above expectation

BUDAPEST, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Hungarian pharmaceuticals firm Egis EGIS.BU posted higher-than-expected 5.8 billion forint ($26.27 million) pre-tax profits in the October-December period, it said in a statement on Wednesday.

The company will publish its earnings report on Feb. 9.

It posted sales of 28.5 billion forints in the period which is the first quarter of its financial year, it said.

“Certain shipments brought forward due to business considerations have contributed three billion forints to sales and two billion forints to earnings,” it said.
