Hyundai Heavy to make solo bid for Hynix -report

SEOUL, July 5 (Reuters) - Hyundai Heavy Industries has decided to make a solo bid for Hynix Semiconductor , the world’s second-biggest memory chip maker, MoneyToday reported on Tuesday, citing industry sources.

Top shareholders of Hynix Semiconductor launched a third attempt to sell their $2.1 billion stake and plan to receive letters of intent by this Friday.

A Hyundai Heavy spokesman denied the report, saying it had not yet decided on the bid. (Reporting by Hyunjoo Jin and Ju-min Park; Editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
