NEW DELHI, Jan 2 (Reuters) - India’s electricity supply fell for the fifth straight month in December, but declined at a slower pace than in November, provisional government data showed.
Power supply fell to 101.92 billion units in December, down 1.1% from 103.04 billion units last year, an analysis of daily load despatch data by state-run Power System Operation Corp Ltd showed.
Lower electricity supply could mean a fifth straight fall in power demand - linked by economists to a broader economic slowdown - as electricity deficit in India is marginal. (Reporting by Sudarshan Varadhan; Editing by Alex Richardson)
