London Scottish names Peter Cordrey as new chairman

LONDON, March 28 (Reuters) - Specialist financial services group London Scottish Bank Plc LSB.L said on Wednesday it had appointed chartered accountant Peter Cordrey as its new chairman, replacing the out-going Trevor Furlong.

The company -- which was last month spurned by suitor Cattles Plc CTT.L -- added in its annual general meeting statement that business trends were consistent with those reported in January, but that its loss-making broking business was subject to a strategic review.

Shares in the company were up 2 percent at 116-1/2 pence by 1019 GMT, valuing the firm at 166 million pounds ($326 million).
