LONDON, Oct 6 (Reuters) - The euro fell to a session low versus the dollar and the yen on Wednesday after Fitch downgraded Ireland to A+ from AA-. [ID:nWLA4711]
The euro shed around 30 pips versus the dollar EUR=, falling to $1.3800 before recovering to trade at $1.3820. Versus the yen EURJPY=R, the euro fell around 20 pips to 114.73 before steadying at 114.80.
The euro earlier hit an eight-month high at $1.3880 as the dollar suffered broad losses on expectations of further quantitative easing from the Federal Reserve.
