NBC Buys Kelly Oxford Comedy

NBC has bought a half-hour, single-camera ensemble comedy from writer Kelly Oxford that counts "Friends" veteran Ira Ungerleider among its executive producers.

The show, which is untitled, is about a divorcing couple and the wife’s overbearing sister, who try to raise their families together.

Oxford, keeper of a popular blog and the author of the upcoming book of humorous essays "Everything is Perfect When You're a Liar," sold a comedy spec pilot to CBS last year. Harper Collins will publish her book in mid-2012.

Besides Ungerleider, the NBC show's executive producers are Christina Weiss Lurie of the Oscar-winning "Inside Job" and Alan Barnette of Lurie/Barnette Productions; Richard Gelb; and Karey Burke an Todd Holland (Dark Toy Entertainment).

Oxford is repped by WME, and Ungerleider by UTA. Related Articles:  'Community' Flash Mob: Fans Hope to Save NBC Comedy (Video) Howard Stern's 'America's Got Talent' Move Explained Through Taiwanese Animation (Video)
