May 10 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1625 GMT on Monday.

* BASRA - A car bomb exploded at a market, killing at least nine people and wounding 70 others in the southern oil city of Basra, 420 km (260 miles) southeast of Baghdad, a police source said. Two other car bombs went off in northern Basra killing seven people and wounding five, police said.
Medical and security sources said 21 people were killed in the three blasts.
* HILLA - At least 45 people died and 190 were wounded when two suicide car bombers drove into the entrance of a textile factory as workers were ending a shift in the town of Hilla, 100 miles (62 km) south of Baghdad, police and hospital officials said. A third bomb exploded as rescue workers arrived.
* MAHMOUDIYA - A parked car bomb wounded eight people in a residential area in the town of Mahmoudiya, about 30 km (20 miles) south of Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said.
BAGHDAD - Gunmen in cars shot at several police patrols in various parts of Baghdad, wounding several policemen, police said.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded two civilians in the Hussainiya district of northern Baghdad, police said.

HASWA - A sticky bomb attached to the motorbike of a policeman killed him and wounded four civilians in the centre of Haswa, 50 km (30 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.
ABU GHRAIB - A car bomb in a market killed two people and wounded 12 in the district of Abu Ghraib, in western Baghdad, police said.

ABU GHRAIB - A bomb destroyed a house, killing the owner, in Abu Ghraib, police said.
MUSSAYAB - A roadside bomb went off in a market, wounding three people near Mussayab, about 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, the spokesman of the local government said.
AL-SUWAYRA - A suicide bomber wearing a vest laden with explosives and another driving a car killed 13 people, including eight policemen, and wounded 40 in a market in Al-Suwayra town, 50 km (30 miles) southeast of Baghdad, a local official said.
TARMIYA - A car bomb targeting the convoy of the mayor of the district killed three people and wounded 16, including the mayor, in Tarmiya, 25 km (15 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
YUSUFIYA - A minivan parked in front of council offices damaged the building but caused no casualties in a section of Yusufiya, 20 km (12 miles) southwest of Baghdad, police said.
BAGHDAD - Gunmen using silenced weapons attacked at least six checkpoints in Baghdad at dawn, killing seven Iraqi soldiers and policemen, while bombs planted at three others wounded several more, an Interior Ministry source said. Two of the checkpoints attacked by gunmen were in eastern Baghdad, one in the south and the others in the west. The ones attacked by bombs were all in the south and southeast.
At least 26 people were wounded in the coordinated assaults in Baghdad.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb targeting a passing police patrol killed two civilians and wounded five people in southern Baghdad, police said.
FALLUJA - Five bombs went off at dawn outside the homes of police officers in the former al Qaeda stronghold of Anbar province, killing two people in the city of Falluja, 50 km (32 miles) west of Baghdad, and two in a village 20 km (12 miles) east of Falluja, police said.
MOSUL - At least two Kurdish peshmerga fighters were killed and three wounded when a suicide bomber in a car drove into a checkpoint manned by U.S., Iraqi and Kurdish forces east of Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
MOSUL - Gunmen in a car shot dead a student in front of his house in northern Mosul, police said.
MOSUL - Gunmen attacked a carpenter’s family, killing him and his son and seriously wounding two female members of his family, on Sunday in western Mosul, police said.
TAL AFAR - Police found two unidentified bodies in separate areas of Tal Afar, about 420 km (260 miles) northwest of Baghdad, police said.
