* SINJAR - Three people were killed and 12 wounded when a car bomb exploded near a liquor store in Sinjar, a town 390 km (240 miles) northwest of Baghdad that is mostly inhabited by Yazidis, members of a pre-Islamic Kurdish sect, police and Sinjar Mayor Dakhool Qasim Hassoon said.
One of the dead was a translator who worked with the U.S military but it was not clear whether he was the target, police said.
* BAGHDAD - Four policemen were wounded when a roadside bomb went off at their vehicle in the Yarmouk district of western Baghdad, police said.
MOSUL - A booby-trapped wooden cart exploded in eastern Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, wounding three people including two police officers, police said.
MOSUL - A roadside bomb wounded a police officer in western Mosul, police said.
MOSUL - Police said they found the body of an unidentified man with bullet wounds to the head and chest in southern Mosul.
BAGHDAD - A bomb hit the Baghdad-Basra train line, wounding 14 passengers south of Baghdad, police said.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb targeted the convoy of a deputy agriculture minister, wounding four people including two of his bodyguards in Palestine Street, northern Baghdad, police said.
BAGHDAD - A sticky bomb attached to a car exploded, wounding a civilian in the New Baghdad district of eastern Baghdad, police said.
