Telefonica to appeal Spanish network decision

MADRID, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Telefonica (TEF.MC) said it would appeal a Spanish telecoms watchdog decision to impose conditions on the opening of its network infrastructure allowing competitors to use their conduits to roll out their own fibre networks.

“The bilaterial agreements that we have to share infrastructure have worked well and we see no reason for regulation to cover every single detail,” said a spokesman for Telefonica on Friday.

Spanish telecoms watchdog CMT on Thursday set a price and conditions framework under which other telecoms providers can use the Telefonica network, as it is the dominant operator and a former monopoly.
