FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, Sept 14

Sept 14 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1430 GMT on Monday.

* TAL ABTAH - A U.S. helicopter shot dead an Iraqi militant who opened fire on it from a truck during a gun battle with U.S. and Iraqi forces late on Sunday, the U.S. military said. Another militant who claimed to be a foreign fighter was captured during the fight in Tal Abta, 330 km (205 miles) northwest of Baghdad.

BAQUBA - A car bomb targeting an Iraqi police patrol killed three policemen and wounded three civilians in central Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) northeast of Baghdad, police said.

JURF AL-SAKHAR - Gunmen stormed an off-duty policeman’s home, ordered his family out and shot dead the policeman inside, then burned down the house in Jurf al-Sakhar, 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - A roadside bomb exploded near a police patrol, killing one woman and wounding her daughter in western Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - A roadside bomb went off near a police patrol, killing a police officer and wounded seven in central Mosul, police said.

JURF AL-SAKHAR - Gunmen attacked a police check point on Sunday night, killing one policeman and wounded two in Jurf al- Sakhar, police said.
