LONDON, Sept 3 (Reuters) - News and information provider Reuters RTR.L said paperwork regarding the 8.7 billion pound
($17.6 billion) bid for it by Canadian electronic publisher Thomson Corp TOC.TO had been provided to European regulators. "The filing we made today with the EU is part of the routine regulatory process we outlined at our half-year results in July," a spokeswoman for the London-based company said.
Reuters Chief Executive Tom Glocer said at the time of the interim results on July 27 he expected the deal to complete in the fourth quarter of 2007 or the first quarter of next year.
The European Commission now has 25 working days for a first-stage review, but can extend this as part of a more detailed investigation.
