Chile's peso opens up 3.33% after cenbank says will sell dollars

SANTIAGO, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Chile’s peso opened up 3.33% at 801.50/801.80 per dollar on Friday, after the country’s central bank said it could sell up to $20 billion in foreign interventions to stabilize the local currency.

The peso plummeted to a new low for the second day in a row at market close on Thursday, following weeks of protests over inequality and inadequate social services. (Reporting by Froilan Romero; Editing by Alex Richardson)
