TABLE-Global CO2 emissions in 2008-IWR Institute

FRANKFURT, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Global carbon dioxide emissions in 2008 rose 1.94 percent year-on-year to 31.5 billion tonnes, German renewable energy industry institute IWR said on Monday, based on official information and its own research.

IWR posted the following table for 65 countries’ carbon dioxide emissions in 2008 and IWR’s related investment recommendations, expressed in billions of euros annually.

These were given for two scenarios — for European carbon emissions permits priced at 10 euros ($14.19) a tonne or 20 euros a tonne. The current market price for the permits, called EU Allowances, is around 14 euros a tonne.
