Aug 28 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 2100 GMT on Saturday.

* MOSUL - Two policemen were killed when gunmen attacked a police checkpoint in western Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

* QAIYARA - Two policemen were killed when gunmen in several cars attacked a police checkpoint in the town of Qaiyara, 290 km (180 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. Police killed one of the attackers and captured six others.

BASRA - A roadside bomb wounded a U.S. service member in Basra, 420 km (260 miles) southeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

MOSUL - Police said they found the body of an unknown man with gunshot wounds to the chest in the town of Shura, 50 km (35 miles) south of Mosul. Mosul is 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad.

HAWIJA - A roadside bomb wounded two civilians late on Friday in Hawija, 210 km (130 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
