MOSCOW, Nov 2 (Reuters) - The European Commission is "satisfied" with the new gas supply deal between Russia and Poland, Russia's Gazprom GAZP.MM said in a statement on Tuesday.
Earlier today Alexei Miller, the head of Russia’s state-owned energy giant met with the European Union’s Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger for talks on EU-Russia gas relations.
“During the meeting Gunther Oettinger, speaking on behalf of the European Commission, expressed his satisfaction with the result of the Russian-Polish gas industry,” the statement said.
Last week, Poland signed a new gas deal with Russia that will increase deliveries to about 10 billion cubic metres a year but the deal had yet to receive the blessing of the European Union, which had concerns about pipeline access and shareholder control. [ID:nLDE69P2FQ]
