SOFIA, May 28 (Reuters) - At least 13 people died when a passenger bus crashed into a crowd of people in south-eastern Bulgaria on Thursday, police said.
"According to initial information, 13 people have died," said a spokeswoman for the regional police department in the city of Yambol, some 260 km (162 miles) south-east of Sofia.
It is not clear whether there were any fatalities among the bus passengers. The Interior Ministry in Sofia said four people, including one on the bus, suffered severe injuries.
The ministry said the bus had failed to pull over due to a technical problem. The accident happened near the site of a local fair crowded with people, police said. (Reporting by Tsvetelia Ilieva)
