TEGUCIGALPA, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Honduras closed its 2010/11 coffee harvest with 3,160,881 60-kg bags of exports, 4.6 percent up from the same cycle as the previous season, the country's coffee growing association said on Friday.
In September, Honduras exported 22,911 60-kg bags of coffee, 55.6 percent less than the same month last year.
Global supplies of high-quality arabica beans like those grown in Central America are tight ahead of the next harvest, which begins next month, helping to push prices to record highs recently. (Reporting by Gustavo Palencia; Editing by David Gregorio)
