GUATEMALA CITY, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Guatemala closed its 2009/10 coffee harvest with 3.44 million 60-kg bags of exports, 0.3 percent down from the same cycle as the previous season, the country's coffee growing association said on Monday.
Global supplies of high-quality arabica beans like those grown in Guatemala are tight ahead of the next harvest, which begins next month, helping to push prices to record highs in recent months.
In September, Guatemala exported 199,355 60-kg bags of coffee, a 41 percent jump from the same month last year. (Reporting by Sarah Grainger; Editing by David Gregorio)
