Canada's New Brunswick reports first case of H1N1

(Adds details of case)

OTTAWA, May 1 (Reuters) - The Atlantic Canadian province of New Brunswick has reported its first case of the new H1N1 flu strain, a health department official said on Friday.

Canada has now discovered 35 cases of the flu, which is also known as swine flu. All the cases have been mild.

Meghan Cumby, a spokeswoman for the New Brunswick department of health, said a woman in her 20s who had recently been to Mexico has the flu.

She lives either in or near the city of Moncton, Cumby said, but declined to be more specific. (Reporting by David Ljunggren; editing by Peter Galloway)
