SANTIAGO, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Strikers at Breakwater Resources' BWR.TO Toqui mine in Chile said Tuesday their stoppage was indefinite after wage talks failed.
They were waiting for the company to approach the union to renew negotiations.
El Toqui was projected to produce 23,000 tonnes of zinc in 2010, according to information released by the company. The deposit was estimated to produce 35,000 ounces of gold, 83,000 ounces of silver and 600 tonnes of lead in 2010. Toqui was expected to extract about a quarter of the company’s estimated zinc production in 2010. (Reporting by Alonso Soto; Editing by John Picinich)
