UPDATE 1-Bridgewater gets contract for MetroPCS 4G network

* To supply LTE system components to MetroPCS

* Bridgewater shares up 3 pct

Dec 14 (Reuters) - Bridgewater Systems Corp BWC.TO said it got an order from MetroPCS Communications Inc PCS.N to supply components for the low-cost wireless carrier's fourth-generation network.

MetroPCS selected Bridgewater’s product suite for its 4G long-term evolution (LTE) network, including the Home Subscriber Server and the Policy Controller, which manage data related to various subscriber services.

Bridgewater, which helps wireless carriers manage mobile data traffic, said it was in several LTE trials with major operators in Asia Pacific and North America along with its partners.

The company’s shares, which have gained about 68 percent in last six months, rose 3 percent to C$8.60 Monday morning on the Toronto Stock Exchange. ($1=1.058 Canadian Dollar) (Reporting by Ashutosh Joshi in Bangalore; Editing by Ratul Ray Chaudhuri)
