KABUL, Oct. 12, (Reuters) - An explosion on a NATO helicopter in Afghanistan that killed one and wounded eight on Tuesday was caused by an insurgent rocket-propelled grenade fired just after it landed, the NATO-led alliance said.
“The CH-47 Chinook helicopter had just landed and was off-loading through the rear ramp when an insurgent RPG was fired into the cargo bay,” the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said. (Reporting by Patrick Markey, Editing by Ron Popeski)
