FACTBOX-Security developments in Afghanistan, May 30

May 30 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan reported by 0600 GMT on Saturday.

KUNDUZ - A roadside bomb planted by insurgents slightly wounded the governor of northern Kunduz province, Mohammad Omar, when he was travelling to neighbouring Takhar province, his spokesman Mahboobullah Sayedi said.

BADGHIS - Six Afghan army soldiers and 18 insurgents were killed in a battle after an ambush by Taliban forces in the Bala Murghab district of Western Badghis province on Friday, provincial governor Dilbar Jan Armaan told Reuters.

Five army officers were also wounded during the firefight, Armaan said.

HELMAND - Afghan and U.S.-led troops killed five militants during an operation in the Musa Qala district of southern Helmand province on Friday, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

HERAT - Afghan policemen identified and shot dead two suicide bombers who were trying to enter the Guzara district of western Helmand province overnight, the Interior Ministry said. (Compiled by Hamid Shalizi; Editing by Emma Graham-Harrison)
