Bruins sign veteran Recchi to one-year extension

BOSTON (Reuters) - The Boston Bruins have signed seven-times All-Star forward Mark Recchi to a one-year contract extension, general manager Peter Chiarelli said on Monday.

Recchi, 42, had 18 goals and 25 assists in 81 regular season games for the Bruins last season. Since joining the team in March 2009, Recchi has 28 goals and 31 assists in 99 regular season games.

The right wing, who entered the NHL in the 1988-89 season, has played for six teams prior to joining the Bruins and won the Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh in 1991 and Carolina in 2006.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
