Qatar backs Lagarde's candidacy for IMF top job

DUBAI, June 14 (Reuters) - Qatar is backing the candidacy of French Finance Minister Christine Largarde to lead the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Qatar’s state news agency said on Tuesday.

The agency, citing an official of Qatar’s economy and finance ministry, said: “The ministry supports the candidacy of Christine Lagarde, the French Finance Minister, for the position of IMF Managing Director.” (Reporting by Shaimaa Fayed)
