Scope of opioid epidemic may complicate jury selection for Insys trial

Jury selection began on Thursday in the trial of five former executives of opioid maker Insys Therapeutics Inc, as potential jurors were questioned about whether they have been affected by the opioid epidemic.

About 300 people gathered at federal court in Boston to fill out a questionnaire to assess their ability to impartially serve as jurors for the trial of one-time billionaire Insys founder John Kapoor and his co-defendants.
