Eli Lilly loses bid to overturn $20 million patent verdict

A federal judge has rejected Eli Lilly and Co’s effort to have a $20 million jury award thrown out in a lawsuit claiming the company infringed a German association’s patent by marketing its erectile dysfunction drug Cialis to treat prostate enlargement.

U.S. District Judge William Bryson in Marshall, Texas on Friday denied Lilly’s request that he enter judgment in its favor or grant it a new trial in a lawsuit by Erfindergemeinschaft UroPep GbR.
