IN BRIEF: Fed Circuit junks virtual storage patent claims

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Monday dealt a setback to an intellectual property holding company that has brought patent infringement cases against several companies that use cloud computing services provided by Amazon.com Inc.

In a sealed opinion, the court affirmed a set of Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruling that invalidated key claims in two patents owned by Global Equity Management (SA) Pty Ltd (GEMSA).
