Italy car sales drop 97.6% y/y in April - ministry

MILAN, May 4 (Reuters) - Italian car registrations fell 97.55% in April from the previous year following the coronavirus outbreak and a nationwide lockdown ordered by authorities to fight the pandemic, the transport ministry said on Monday.

Fiat Chrysler’s share of the Italian car market stood at 37.86% in April, compared with 16.4% the previous month, Reuters calculations on the ministry data showed. (Reporting by Agnieszka Flak; editing by Valentina Za)
