ENEL

Italy’s biggest utility Enel said on Thursday it signed tax equity agreement regarding 300 megawatt Red Dirt Wind project in the United States. (*) The construction of 8 windfarms by Enel in the Kafireas area of Greece must be temporarily halted, Corriere della Sera said, citing a ruling by a Greek court as reported by Ana-Mpa news agency.

FIAT CHRYSLER

Dongfeng Motor Group has no plans at the moment to acquire all or part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCA), a spokesman of the Chinese automaker said on Thursday in response to a question by Reuters. (*) China’s Guangzhou Automobile Group Co Ltd has no plans to acquire automaker Fiat Chrysler, a company spokesperson said on Friday.

About 800 shareholders have asked for damages of more than 800 million euros relating to allegations they were lured into investing on the basis of misleading balance sheets and prospectuses, Il Sole 24 Ore said, citing the lender’s half-yearly results report. The number, which has more than doubled since the start of the year, could increase “significantly too”, it said. Some papers said the ECB has asked for another 250 million euros in write downs.

Italian insurers Generali and Cattolica as well as France’s Covea, Germany’s Allianz and Switzerland’s Zurich are interested in the stakes of Unipol and Aviva in Popolare Vita and Avipop Assicurazioni, bancassurance companies involving Banco BPM, Corriere della Sera said. The two stakes are worth around 700 million euros, it said.

The eyewear group is focusing on markets in Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe, CEO Luisa Delgado said in an interview in Il Sole 24 Ore. It also wants to grow in the United States.
