MILAN, Sept 6 (Reuters) - The following factors could affect Italian markets on Wednesday.

ECONOMY

ISTAT releases July retail trade data (0800 GMT).

COMPANIES

(*) MEDIASET

Vivendi may ask the Italian broadcaster to take part in the joint-venture its Canal+ unit is setting up with Telecom Italia, Il Sole 24 Ore said quoting Bloomberg News. Mediaset would contribute its Premium pay-TV unit, in an effort to end the legal battle over the derailed sale of the subsidiary to Vivendi, the paper said, adding the proposal had not been formalised yet.

FINCANTIERI

France will propose the creation of a giant military and civil shipbuilding group jointly controlled with Italy to resolve the dispute with Rome over the control of STX France shipyard, la Repubblica said. The proposal involves Fincantieri and Naval Group injecting capital in equal measure into the venture, the paper said. The French Economy minister will table its plan on Monday in a meeting in Rome with his Italian counterpart, it said.

TELECOM ITALIA

Head hunter Egon Zehnder has been hired to find the telecoms group’s new CEO within a few weeks, both Il Sole 24 Ore and Il Messaggero reported. Possible candidates are Giuseppe Recchi or Amos Genish though Il Messaggero mentioned also Prometeon’s Paolo Dal Pino saying a decision is expected at the end of September.

BANCHE

A deadline to agree the purchase by the Atlante 2 fund of 3.15 billion euro in bad loans from three small banks being rescued by Credit Agricole has been moved to Sept. 15, Il Messaggero reported. Atlante is short of 150 million euros to be able to buy the mezzanine tranche. A bridge loan by Banca IMI, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and DoBank may be needed until the 416 million euro tranche is placed on the market, the paper said.

Atlante 2 may call a shareholder meeting as early as this week to approve looking for new investors, Il Sole 24 Ore said.

UNIEURO

Italian Electronics Holdings, the controlling shareholder in Unieuro, sold a 17.5 percent stake in the Italian consumer electronics chain on Tuesday at a price of 16 euros a share.

(*) UNICREDIT

Investors including Pimco and Fortress are looking at a 1-1.5 billion euro portfolio of bad loans UniCredit is planning to sell by year-end, MF reported. The portfolio, dubbed Firenze, includes mostly unsecured loans but also some mortgages.

UNICREDIT, INTESA SANPAOLO

The two banks will be left with around 1 percent of Pirelli each after the tyre maker’s IPO and plan to exit completely, Il Sole 24 Ore reported.

YOOX-NET-A-PORTER

The fashion retailer confirmed synergies of 85 million euros a year from 2018 following the 2015 merger of Yoox with Net-A-Porter and reiterated its 2020 targets in an event presentation published on its website on Tuesday.

CARIGE

Top investor Malacalza’s demand to exclude the option of a new share issue with no subscription rights for the bank’s current shareholders clashes with indications given by the European Central Bank and the Bank of Italy, Il Messaggero reported.

BIALETTI

The moka maker said on Tuesday its first-half loss had nearly doubled to 1.4 million euros on a 2.8 percent fall in revenue partly driven by the sale of its Girmi brand. Like-for-like sales rose 2.5 percent.

SERVIZI ITALIA

The Italian company specialising in renting and sterilising medical linen said on Tuesday it had bought 70 percent of rival Steritek for 3.2 million euros and had an option to reach 100 percent in five years.

TECHNOGYM

The group wants to gradually expand its U.S. presence, CEO Nerio Alessandri told journalists on the sidelines of an event on Tuesday
