ROME, July 28 (Reuters) - An Italian government minister dismissed rumours on Thursday that Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti was preparing to resign, saying the talk seemed to be without any foundation.
Agriculture Minister Saverio Romano told reporters that the issue had not come up during a cabinet meeting.
“Absolutely not. It seems to me absolutely unfounded. It was a calm and tranquil cabinet meeting,” he told reporters outside Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s office in Rome. (Reporting by Giuseppe Fonte)
