Japan March housing starts rise 7.3 pct yr/yr -govt

TOKYO, April 30 (Reuters) - Housing starts in Japan rose 7.3
percent in March from a year earlier, up for the seventh
straight month, data by the land ministry showed on Tuesday,
buoyed by recovery in consumer sentiment and demand ahead of
planned sales tax.
    Orders received by 50 major construction companies fell 3.4
percent in March from a year earlier.
