BOJ Shirakawa says will mull econ impact of quake at rate review

TOKYO, March 13 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa said on Sunday the central bank will thoroughly consider the economic impact of the huge earthquake that struck northeast Japan when the board meets for a rate review on Monday.

The central bank will also do its utmost to ensure power outages will have minimal impact on Japan’s bank settlement system, Shirakawa told reporters after attending a meeting of cabinet ministers for discussions on the economy. (Reporting by Stanley White; Editing by Joseph Radford)
