Fitch: euro zone breakup unlikely, of no benefit

TOKYO, June 21 (Reuters) - A breakup of the euro zone is unlikely, and would not be to any country’s benefit, Fitch Ratings said on Monday.

Regarding Japan’s rating, the ratings agency has concerns for the longer term about its falling savings rate, Andrew Colquhoun, Fitch’s Asia sovereign ratings director told its global banking conference held in Tokyo.

But in the short term Japan’s sovereign rating is supported by Japan’s flexibility in financing, he said. (Reporting by Rika Otsuka)
