Japan Hokkaido Elec restarts 125-MW coal unit

TOKYO, April 13 (Reuters) - Japanese utility Hokkaido Electric Power Co said on Friday it resumed operations at the coal-fired 125-megawatt No.3 unit of its Sunagawa power plant at 11:59 p.m. (1459 GMT) on Thursday following unplanned repair work.

The company had said it expected to restart the unit around mid-April. The unit had been shut since March 25 due to a problem with a boiler. (Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori; Editing by Paul Tait)
