JSW Steel, Japan JFE to consider steel plant in India

MUMBAI, Nov 19 (Reuters) - JSW Steel (JSTL.BO), India’s third largest maker of the alloy, on Thursday said it would consider building a steel plant in the country’s West Bengal state along with Japan’s JFE Holdings (5411.T).

“The details are being worked out between the two companies,” JSW Steel Managing Director Sajjan Jindal told a news conference.

The two firms also agreed to partner each other to make auto grade steel in India and to work on sourcing raw materials domestically and abroad. (Reporting by Siddesh Mayenkar and Bhargavi Nagaraju; Editing by Sunil Nair)
