NLRB says companies may be alter egos because owners are married

An Ohio window installation company may be the alter ego of a larger glass fabricator and required to bargain with its workers because the companies’ owners are married, the National Labor Relations Board has ruled in a divided decision.

The board in the 2-1 ruling on Wednesday denied Glass & Metal Solutions Inc’s bid to toss out claims that it is the alter ego of Glass Fabricators Inc, saying a hearing was required to determine whether the companies’ operations overlapped.
