A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday temporarily blocked a Seattle law allowing drivers for ride-hailing services to join a union, as Uber Technologies Inc and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce seek to have it thrown out.
Two judges on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted a bid by Uber and the Chamber to block the law while the court considers their motion for a lengthier injunction pending an appeal of a recent ruling that dismissed their legal challenge. Uber is represented by Davis Wright Tremaine and the Chamber by Jones Day.
