Aug 16 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1500 GMT on Sunday.

*BAGHDAD - At least six people were killed and 18 wounded when two bombs exploded at a popular restaurant in a predominantly Shi'ite Muslim neighbourhood of eastern Baghdad, Iraqi police said.

*MOSUL - An off-duty soldier was killed by an unidentified gunman near his house in southwest Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

*KIRKUK - A roadside bomb wounded a member of a mainly Sunni U.S.-backed neighbourhood militia in the northern city of Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said. MOSUL - A roadside bomb targeting a provincial council member's convoy wounded him and two guards in the east of Mosul, police said.

FALLUJA - Gunmen broke into a house and killed four people then booby trapped the building with bombs, wounding five people who tried to enter it after the shooting, police said. The incident was in a small town near the city of Falluja, 50 km (35 miles) west of Baghdad.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded two people in the central Karrada district of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - A gunman shot a soldier dead at an Iraqi army checkpoint in western Mosul, police said.

MOSUL - Gunmen hurled a hand grenade at a police checkpoint in central Mosul, wounding two policemen and four civilians.
