DUBAI, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Lebanon’s central bank governor denied saying that Lebanese banks could change U.S. dollar deposits to Lebanese pounds, as the country’s economy faces a hard currency crisis.
“I did not say, at any time, that banks can convert deposits they have in dollars to Lebanese pounds,” Riad Salameh said in a statement released on Sunday.
