European shares turn positive on financials

LONDON, Oct 18 (Reuters) - European shares turned positive on Monday, with financial services companies continuing their rise ahead of Citigroup (C.N) results, while earlier takeover news from BlueBay BBAY.L had also lifted sentiment.

By 0954 GMT, the pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of top shares was 0.1 percent higher at 1,086.95 points after earlier being as low as 1,080.08. (Reporting by Joanne Frearson)
