Korea Hot Stocks - NCSoft up on China hopes

SEOUL, April 13 (Reuters) - Stocks on the move on Monday include:

As of 0055 GMT, the main KOSPI .KS11 was up 0.91 percent at 1,348.24 points.

The index opened 0.43 percent higher at 1,341.74 points.

Shares in online game developer and publisher NCSoft Corp 036570.KS jumped on Monday on news its new massively multimedia online role playing game (MMORPG) "Aion," already a success in South Korea, had met an enthusiastic initial reception in China.

NCSoft introduced a public trial service of the $17 million game in China last week and now plans to launch it commercially there far sooner than market participants had anticipated.

“We decided go ahead with the commercial launch of the game on April 16, since the trial service in China was better received than we had expected,” said NCSoft spokeswoman.

“The market estimates that about 500,000 people participated in the trial service in China, which is quite a big number. Trial services rarely attract more than 100,000 people,” Samsung Securities said in a report on Monday.

“Aion is expected to be a big hit,” it added, upping its target price on the game publisher to 160,000 won.

NCSoft shares were trading up 14.67 percent at 148,500 won as of 0045 GMT.
