Seoul shares edge up as hope grows over a U.S. fiscal deal

SEOUL, Dec 21 (Reuters) - South Korean shares inched up in early morning trade on Friday, tracing U.S. gains driven by hopes of progress in negotiations about the U.S. “fiscal cliff”.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) was up 0.16 percent at 2,002.62 points at 0004 GMT. (Reporting by Hyunjoo Jin)
