SAfrica union threatens strikes over monetary policy

JOHANNESBURG, June 1 (Reuters) - South Africa’s metalworkers union on Monday threatened to stage mass strikes if the country’s central bank did not change its policies and carry out deeper interest rate cuts.

“If matters are not resolved we will have mass rolling action,” National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa General-Secretary Irvin Jim told a news conference.
