HONG KONG, Aug 27 (Reuters) - China Telecom Corp 0728.HK said it had 1.3 million 3G subscribers at the end of June and planned to increase handset subsidies to 37 percent of revenue from a previous plan for 30 percent.
China Telecom, previously a fixed-line operator that entered the mobile business earlier this year under an industry restucturing rolled out by Beijing, hopes to turn around its mobile telecom business in three years, an executive told reporters on Thursday.
