REFILE-Canada sees manufacturers OK with C$ level -report

(Refile to fix to “Canadian” currency in paragraph 3)

OTTAWA, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Canadian manufacturers are happier with the current lower level of the Canadian dollar, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said in remarks released on Saturday.

They “are much more comfortable now with our currency where it is,” Flaherty said Saturday in an interview with Bloomberg Television in Davos, Switzerland.

The Canadian dollar CAD= had traded around parity with the U.S. dollar in mid-2008 but now stands at C$1.2294 to the dollar, making the Canadian currency worth 81.34 U.S. cents. (Reporting by Randall Palmer)
