Emerson three-month orders rise 10 percent

NEW YORK, March 27 (Reuters) - Emerson Electric Co EMR.N said on Thursday its orders rose 10 percent in the three months ended in February, matching the pace in the three months ended in January, driven by its process management and industrial automation unit and helped by a weak U.S. dollar.

Strong energy sector demand boosted orders in the process management segment by 15 percent, up from the January pace.

Industrial automation orders were up 10 percent to 15 percent, the same pace as in January. Network power orders, led by telecommunications and data center demand, rose 15 percent to 20 percent, the company said in a monthly regulatory filing.

Emerson reports orders using a trailing three-month average compared to a year earlier.

Orders were down in Emerson’s appliance and tools division and were flat to up 5 percent in its climate technologies unit. (Reporting by Nick Zieminski; editing by John Wallace)
