TOKYO, Feb 27 (Reuters) - The stability of the dollar as a key currency is in Japan’s national interest, Prime Minister Taro Aso said on Friday.
Aso made the comment to the lower house finance committee.
The yen rose sharply on Friday, rebounding from a 3-½ month low against the dollar and gaining on other major currencies, as speculators pocketed their dollar profits after its steep run up against the Japanese currency. [FRX/] (Reporting by Leika Kihara and Yuzo Saeki)
